Preschool observations, portfolios and report cards v0.1.0
Note what you see: tap a child, an area (social and emotional, language, early literacy, early math, moving, thinking) and a skill, say whether you saw it, it's emerging or not yet, and add a line. Each child's portfolio and report card print from your notes, and the blank skills checklists print for twos, threes and fours. Free, kept on this device, no scores.
How to use it
- Pick the age, a child, an area and a skill.
- Tap what you saw and write one line about what happened: what the child did and said, not what you think it means.
- Before a conference, print the child's report card; at the end of a term, print the portfolio and add their drawings.
Ideas for class
- Note two or three children a day, not the whole room: by Friday everyone has something.
- Write what happened ('counted 7 apples, touching each one'), not a label ('good at math').
- Hand the 'next steps at home' box to families at the conference.

Questions
Is this an assessment or a screening?
Neither. It records what a teacher has noticed, in plain words, with no scores. For questions about development, families can ask their child's doctor or their state's early intervention program (Child Find).
Where are the notes kept?
Only on this device, under each child's first name or initials. Nothing is sent. Save the observations as a file to keep a copy or move them.
Can I add photos?
Not here: photos of children never go into Peabody. Print the portfolio and paste photos or drawings onto the paper.
Nothing you type here is sent to us. Observations stay in this browser; a full name is refused and private details are cut from notes. No account, no ads.
