Circle time board v0.1.0

A circle time calendar for the rug: say the day together, tap the weather, count the days at school on ten-frames, ask the week's theme question, sing the song and pick today's helper. Read aloud on tap, big enough for the projector, and it prints the month's calendar with a weather graph. Free, no sign-in.

How to use it

  1. Open it at circle time on the projector or a tablet (Full screen hides everything else).
  2. Say the day together, tap today's weather and press Count today.
  3. Ask the week's theme question and sing the song; it follows the theme you planned this week.
  4. Pick today's helper from your first names. Everyone gets a turn before anyone has two.

Ideas for class

  • Let the helper tap the weather and press Count today.
  • On day 10, 20 and 30, count the full ten-frames together: ten, twenty, thirty.
  • Print the month's calendar on the first day of the month and color the weather graph together on Fridays.
  • Keep it short: the board is two or three minutes of a circle, not the whole circle.

Questions

Is anything about the children sent anywhere?

No. The weather, the count and the first names stay in this browser. The names are the same list the sign-in sheet and name tags use, and they are never put in a link.

Why does the count only go up once a day?

So a second tap after lunch can't count the same day twice. If you start mid-year, set the count by hand once.

Where does the theme come from?

From this week's plan in the theme planner. With no plan saved, it shows the season's first theme, and you can pick another.

Nothing you do here is sent to us. The weather, the count and first names are kept in this browser. No sign-in, no ads.
