Parent newsletter maker v0.2.0

One page for the families: this week's theme pulled in (what we're learning, the letter, the books, what to ask), what you did, what's coming, reminders, dates, the song's words and a thank-you. Turn any block off. Free, no sign-in.

Pulled in from the apples week: what we are learning, the letter, the books and what to ask.

The words of “Oranges and Lemons”, so families can sing it at home.

Our room news · week of 26–30 Oct 2026

This week: apples

One week on apples for twos to fours: what grows on a tree, what is inside, and how many seeds we find.

Our letter is A: A is for apple. Our books: Meg and the Seed, Jen and the Jam, A Bun for Fran, Johnny Appleseed.

Ask your child how many seeds were in our apple. Ask your child what color apples can be.

Our song: Oranges and Lemons

Oranges and lemons, Say the bells of St. Clement's. You owe me five farthings, Say the bells of St. Martin's. When will you pay me? Say the bells of Old Bailey. When I grow rich, Say the bells of Shoreditch. When will that be? Say the bells of Stepney. I do not know, Says the great bell of Bow. Here comes a candle to light you to bed, And here comes a chopper to chop off your head!

Traditional; public domain.

How to use it

  1. Pick the week and the theme (it comes from this week's plan when you have one).
  2. Write a line or two in the blocks you want; untick the rest.
  3. Read any “check before you print” notes, then print one page.

Ideas for class

  • Four short blocks get read; a full page of text does not. Leave the dates block for things families must act on.
  • Use first names only for thank-yous, or none: the note may be pinned up where other families read it.
  • Hang it by the sign-in sheet on Monday and send a photo of it to families who use a messaging app.

Questions

Where do my words go?

Nowhere. They are kept in this browser, the last eight weeks, so you can reuse last week's reminders. The share link holds only the theme and which blocks are on.

Why does it flag a child's name?

A newsletter is often pinned up or forwarded. The check points out a child's name, a full daycare name, an address or a phone number, so you decide before printing. It never stops you printing.

Can I add a photo?

Not on this sheet: it uses the theme's drawing so it prints well in black and white. Teach's general newsletter maker takes a photo.

Nothing you type here is sent to us. Your words are kept in this browser; the share link carries the theme and the toggles only. No sign-in, no ads.
