How we choose
What goes on a list, how a tool is made, and what we leave out.
Lists and top tens
Every list says how it was chosen. We look at what teachers and families actually use, what is free, what it costs, and what its own makers say it does. We do not take money, free products or affiliate commissions to place something on a list, and a product's place is never for sale.
Tools
Each tool does one job, works without signing in, works on a classroom projector and a school Chromebook, and stores nothing about students on a server. If a tool cannot meet that, we do not publish it.
Facts about the law and about money
State homeschool law pages show the date they were last checked against the state's own rules and link to them. Laws change; where a page is out of date, tell us. Nothing here is legal advice.
What we leave out
We do not publish things we cannot check, and we do not repeat claims about teaching practices that research does not support.
