Sub plan generator

Walked into a room with nothing on the desk? Pick the grade, the day's times and what the teacher left. You get the whole day, or just the morning or afternoon you were booked for: every block written out, the sheets with answer keys, a brain break between blocks and a note to leave at the end.

v0.4.0

Nothing you choose here leaves this phone. There is nowhere to type a name.

How to use it

  1. Pick the grade. For 6th to 8th grade, pick the subject: you'll teach one lesson every period.
  2. Set the start, lunch and dismissal times from the schedule on the wall, and say what the teacher left: everything, some or nothing.
  3. Tick what the room has (a printer, a projector) and whether it needs to stay quiet, then press Make the plan.
  4. Print the day, or press Send to my phone and read it from there. Shuffle gives you different passages and activities at the same grade.

Ideas for class

  • No printer before the bell? Untick it: every block switches to the projector, the board, or the plan on your phone, and the passage text opens right in the plan.
  • The teacher left a plan for the morning only? Choose Some and tick what's covered; the generator fills the rest.
  • Booked for a half day? Choose The morning or The afternoon: you get only your half, with the same times and period numbers as the school, and a morning ends with the note before lunch.
  • Long-term sub? Pin it to your desk, and it opens with your grade and times next time.
  • Teaching next door tomorrow? Send the plan to a colleague as a link: it carries the choices, not anything about the class.

Questions

Can it plan a day covering art, music, PE, library or Spanish?

Yes. Under I'm covering, pick the special. The day becomes classes of 45 minutes, and every class gets the same lesson: a warm-up, the main activity, a backup and the clean-up, at the grade you'll see most. PE games are all no-contact.

Can I get it as a PDF?

Yes. Press Print, then choose Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) where the printer is named in the print window. The PDF is made on your device; nothing is sent to us.

Where do the passages and worksheets come from?

From Peabody Teach itself: the leveled reading passages at your grade, the math worksheets by topic, the brain break cards and the writing prompts. Each one is also a page of its own, so you can open it on the projector.

Is anything I choose sent anywhere?

No. The plan is made in your browser and kept there. There is nowhere to type a student's name. Send to my phone puts your choices after the # in the link, which browsers never send to a server.

Can I make sub plans for a half day?

Yes. Choose The morning or The afternoon under I'm booked for. The plan keeps the school's own times and period numbers, so it matches the bell schedule, and a morning plan ends with ten minutes for clean-up and the note before you leave at lunch.

Does it use AI?

No. The plan is put together from fixed rules and our own pages, the same way every time for the same choices. Nothing is written by a model.

Can I use it if the school blocks peabody.kids?

Yes. Everything in the plan is on teach.peabody.kids. Games on the children's site are only ever an extra, listed under “if your school's filter allows it”.

Nothing you choose here is sent to us. The plan is kept in this browser, and there is nowhere to type a name. No sign-in, no ads.
