Questions
How many training hours do child care providers need?
Your state decides, and it often differs for centers, family child care homes and directors. Check with your licensing office or registry before you count a course.
Is CPR training free?
Usually not. CPR and pediatric first aid need a hands-on class from a provider your state accepts, such as the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association, and those classes usually charge a fee.
Where is free CACFP training?
The Institute of Child Nutrition's online courses are free, with a certificate, and include the CACFP meal pattern courses. Your sponsoring organization or state agency may also run its own annual CACFP training.
