Quick answer

MyKidReports' free daily report templates are our number one: infant, toddler and preschool sheets as a PDF and an editable Word file, with no account. Peabody Teach's own daily report slip is second for four slips a page and no medicine field. Free printables come first, then form builders, then apps with daily reports built in.

How we chose

We weighed these, most important first. The order is our judgement against them, not a score or a vote, and a different teacher could reasonably order it differently. Our own tool sits where those criteria put it; we built it after studying the others, so read its entry with that in mind.

  1. Ungated printable. Whether the sheet downloads without an email or a sales form; several we opened asked for contact details first and were left out.
  2. Every age. Whether there is an infant, a toddler and a preschool version, with the fields each room fills in.
  3. Paper or app. Whether it prints, or only works inside an app families must install.
  4. Published price. For apps, whether the vendor's own pricing page shows a price.

We took no money, free products or affiliate commissions for any place on this list, and no link here carries a tracking code. Every fact was read on the maker’s own page on October 30, 2026; prices carry that date because they change. See how we choose and the ad-free promise.

Questions

What goes on a daycare daily report?
Meals or bottles, naps, diapers or the potty, mood, what the child did and anything to bring. The infant, toddler and preschool versions differ.
Should medicine go on the daily sheet?
Some templates have a medicine line. Peabody's slip leaves it off and points to your program's own medication log, which follows your licensing rules.
Do I need an app for daily reports?
No. Paper slips work and cost nothing; apps add photos and real-time updates for families.
