My body: a preschool theme week

Checked Oct 30, 2026 · Any time of year · October, February

One week on my body for twos to fours: a five-line circle time, 4 books (3 free to read on Peabody), one craft with 3 materials, “This Little Piggy” with its words, a snack from the Kitchen and the letter B.

Circle time

  1. Good morning song, then say each name together.
  2. Calendar: the day, the date and the weather.
  3. Ask: “What can your hands do? What can your feet do?”
  4. Sing: This Little Piggy.
  5. Read: Can Ted Hop? (level 1).

Threes and fours: ten to fifteen minutes; let a child hold the book.

Books

  • Can Ted Hop? (level 1, free on peabody.kids): What can a body do? Hop!
  • Mop Can Hop (level 3, free on peabody.kids): Hopping and jumping in the mud.
  • Jump, Jump, Jump! (level 2, free on peabody.kids): Big jumps for strong legs.
  • My Teeth (read aloud, level 5): A read-aloud: true facts about teeth.

Craft: Body outline

You need (3): a long roll of paper, crayons, tape.

  1. Lie down while a grown-up traces round you.
  2. Color in your clothes and face.
  3. Name and point to each body part.

With a grown-up. No heat, nothing hot.

Song: This Little Piggy

The words

This little piggy went to market, This little piggy stayed home, This little piggy had roast beef, This little piggy had none, And this little piggy cried "Wee, wee, wee!" All the way home.

Snack

Letter pack

Threes and fours: trace B and b once, then find B in the room and in the book.

Outside: Body moves
