Circle time
- Good morning song, then say each name together.
- Calendar: the day, the date and the weather.
- Ask: “What would you pack to go camping?”
- Sing: All Through the Night.
- Read: Not Yet, Ted (level 3).
Threes and fours: ten to fifteen minutes; let a child hold the book.
Books
- Not Yet, Ted (level 3, free on peabody.kids): Bedtime, for the night-outside talk.
- Go, Go, Go (read aloud, level 4): A read-aloud: going places.
- The Little Lantern (read aloud, level 6): A read-aloud: a small light at night.
- The Moon Follows Me (read aloud, level 6): A read-aloud: the moon over the road.
Craft: Paper tent
You need (4): a card folded in half, crayons, a paper flap door, glue stick.
- Stand the folded card up as a tent.
- Color it and glue on the door.
- Draw who is sleeping inside.
With a grown-up. No heat, nothing hot.
Song: All Through the Night
The words
Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee All through the night; Guardian angels God will send thee All through the night. Soft the drowsy hours are creeping, Hill and vale in slumber steeping, I my loving vigil keeping All through the night.
Welsh air, English words by Harold Boulton, 1884; public domain. From Top 20 lullabies with lyrics.
Snack
No-Bake S'mores from the Peabody Kitchen: picture steps, allergy swaps and safety lines on the recipe.
Swap: Graham crackers → gluten-free graham-style crackers.
Letter pack
CcC is for camp. Print the two pages (a trace page and a color page).
Threes and fours: trace C and c once, then find C in the room and in the book.
Outside: Blanket camp
Drape a blanket over a table or a rope as a tent. Take turns inside with a flashlight and a book.
