Craft: Paper tent (a card folded in half, crayons, a paper flap door, glue stick), with a grown-up. Snack: No-Bake S'mores (swap: Graham crackers → gluten-free graham-style crackers), recipe at peabody.kids/kitchen/no-bake-smores. Outside: Drape a blanket over a table or a rope as a tent. Take turns inside with a flashlight and a book.
This week: camping
A camping week for twos to fours: tents and flashlights, the night sky, and a pretend campfire story with no fire.
Our letter is C: C is for camp.
Our song is “All Through the Night”. The words are below, so you can sing it at home.
Our books: Not Yet, Ted, Go, Go, Go, The Little Lantern, The Moon Follows Me. The ones marked free can be read at peabody.kids, no sign-in.
All Through the Night
Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee All through the night; Guardian angels God will send thee All through the night. Soft the drowsy hours are creeping, Hill and vale in slumber steeping, I my loving vigil keeping All through the night.
Welsh air, English words by Harold Boulton, 1884; public domain.
Ask your child about…
