All about me: a preschool theme week

Checked Oct 30, 2026 · Fall · August, September

One week on all about me for twos to fours: a five-line circle time, 4 books (3 free to read on Peabody), one craft with 4 materials, “This Little Piggy” with its words, a snack from the Kitchen and the letter M.

Circle time

  1. Good morning song, then say each name together.
  2. Calendar: the day, the date and the weather.
  3. Ask: “What is one thing you can do all by yourself?”
  4. Sing: This Little Piggy.
  5. Read: Can Ted Hop? (level 1).

Threes and fours: ten to fifteen minutes; let a child hold the book.

Books

  • Can Ted Hop? (level 1, free on peabody.kids): What can Ted do? A can-do book to talk about what I can do.
  • Get Up, Gus! (level 1, free on peabody.kids): A morning routine, like the start of our day.
  • Did It (level 0, free on peabody.kids): I did it! For the first weeks of trying new things.
  • My Teeth (read aloud, level 5): A read-aloud: true facts about teeth and growing.

Craft: Me puppet

You need (4): paper lunch bag, crayons, yarn for hair, glue stick.

  1. Draw your face on the bottom of the bag.
  2. Glue on yarn hair.
  3. Use the puppet to say your name at circle time.

With a grown-up. No heat, nothing hot.

Song: This Little Piggy

The words

This little piggy went to market, This little piggy stayed home, This little piggy had roast beef, This little piggy had none, And this little piggy cried "Wee, wee, wee!" All the way home.

Traditional; public domain. From Top 52 nursery rhymes with lyrics.

Snack

Banana Sushi from the Peabody Kitchen: picture steps, allergy swaps and safety lines on the recipe.

Swap: Flour tortillas → corn tortillas; Peanut butter → sunflower seed butter.

Letter pack

MmM is for me. Print the two pages (a trace page and a color page).

Threes and fours: trace M and m once, then find M in the room and in the book.

Outside: Can you do this?

Take turns showing a move (hop, spin, touch your toes) and everyone copies.
