What the rule says
Table 3A (centers initially licensed after July 15, 2001): 6 wk-24 mo 1:4 group 8; 24-36 mo 1:5 group 10; 36 mo to school-age 1:10 group 20; school-age 1:15 group 30 (mapped: fives=36 mo to school-age row; centers certified on/before 7/15/2001 may use Table 3B)
Rule: Or. Admin. R. 414-305-0400(6)(a), Table 3A. Read on 2026-10-31 at oregon.gov. Where the rule's ages split one of ours, the younger, stricter figure is shown. This is the rule for licensed centers; family child care homes, school-age care and mixed-age groups have their own rules. A reading of public regulations, not licensing advice.
