Days until the last day of school
A big last-day-of-school countdown for the projector. Type your date once and it counts the days for you; Share copies a link that opens the same countdown.
Pick a date below and the days to go appear here.
The link in your address bar carries this date, so Share opens the same countdown. School breaks differ by district, so type your own dates; the holiday buttons are worked out from their rules for the current year.
How to use it
- Choose the date of the last day of school in the Date box. The big number is the days from today to that date.
- Type a name such as "The last day of school" if you want it to show on the screen.
- Press F to fill the screen. Press Share to copy a link that opens this same countdown on any computer; your browser also remembers it.
Ideas for class
- Type your last day and keep the countdown on the board during the final month.
- Use the weekday count to write the number of lessons left, then subtract the days off on your calendar.
- Plan a closing project and a deadline for returning library books, with the countdown beside both.
- Run a 'what we learned' board that gets one new line each school day until the number reaches zero.
- Use the weeks-and-days line as a daily math prompt.
- Put the countdown on the class page link so students can see it from home.
