Quiet timer
A calm countdown with no sound, no flashing and no colour changes: muted digits and a thin line that shortens. For tests, silent reading and calm-down time.
20:00
Keys: Space start or pause · R reset · ← → 30 seconds · 1–6 the presets · M sound · F full screen
How to use it
- Choose a length or type your own with Custom.
- Press Start. The digits are muted and a thin line slowly shortens beneath them.
- At zero the timer stops without a sound; the page title in the browser tab says the time is up.
Ideas for class
- Use it for a test: the time is visible but nothing flashes, chimes or changes colour.
- Time silent reading, when a chime would break the spell.
- Run a calm-down break for a student who is overwhelmed by loud signals.
- Use it for quiet work in a room with students who have sensory needs.
- Time a mindful minute at the start of the day.
- Show it during a moment of silence or reflection, so the class knows how long it lasts.

Questions
Why is there no sound in the quiet timer?
The Quiet style never plays the chime and never changes colour, on purpose. A teacher watches the clock and ends the time themselves.
How do I know it has finished?
The digits reach 0:00 and the label says 'Time is up'. The browser tab title also changes, which is useful if the timer is on a second screen.
Can I add a chime?
Choose any other style from the Style menu and the chime is available again. The sound switch (M) remembers your choice.
