About this sheet

A wall calendar shows the month; a printed grid lets you write on it. This one is a plain seven-column table with room in each box for a field trip, a test, a holiday or a birthday, and lines under the grid for the things that belong to the whole month. Choose any month and year and the days line up correctly, including the five- and six-row months. Start the week on Sunday or Monday, or switch the dates off for a blank sheet when your calendar does not follow the usual weeks, such as a homeschool year that runs in blocks. Print twelve and you have a year of pages.

How to use it

  1. Choose the month and year, and whether the week starts on Sunday or Monday. Turn off Fill in the dates for a blank grid.
  2. Type a heading if you like (Room 12 Calendar), then print on landscape letter or A4.
  3. Write holidays and no-school days first, then tests and events, then the things that move, in pencil.

Five ideas for class

  1. Send the month home on the first school day with the no-school days, early releases and picture day already written in, so families can plan.
  2. Let a student helper cross out each day at morning meeting. The calendar becomes a counting lesson, and the class sees the month fill up.
  3. Use the lines at the foot for the month’s learning goal and the books you will read aloud, and post the page next to the board.
  4. Print a blank grid, with the dates off, for a project timeline: students write the due date for each step in the right box.
  5. Pair it with the school year planner. Mark the big dates there, and use the monthly grid for the details when the month arrives.

Questions

Does it show holidays?

No. Holidays and school closures differ by school and by year, so the grid is left for you to fill in. This also keeps the sheet usable in every country.

Why is the year set to 2026?

It is a starting value. Change the year to any year from 2024 to 2040 and the dates redraw correctly, including leap years.

Can I add the same events every month?

Not on the sheet itself, since each page is drawn fresh. Copy your standing events onto the pages by hand, or use the kindness calendar, which takes a line of text for each day.

How do I save it as a PDF?

Choose Print, then pick “Save as PDF” as the printer. Only the sheet prints: the page around it is hidden. You can also save a sheet as a PNG image under the preview.

Can I print it in black and white?

Yes. Switch to Black and white beside the sheet: fills turn white and lines turn black, so it saves ink and photocopies cleanly.
