About this sheet
Most schools take attendance in a system, and this sheet is not that. It is the paper backup: for substitute days, field trips, fire drills, co-ops, tutoring groups, after-school clubs and homeschool co-ops that never had a system. The columns are narrow so a whole month fits across one landscape page, and the totals columns are wide enough to hold a tally. The names you type stay in this browser and are not sent anywhere, but be careful about printing a named list where others can see it.
How to use it
- Choose the number of school days in the month (twenty is typical) and the number of rows.
- Type your class list, one name per line, or leave it blank and write names by hand. Printing the blank sheet is fine.
- Write the date at the top of each column and mark P, A or T for present, absent or tardy. Add up the totals at month end.
Five ideas for class
- Keep a clipboard with the current month’s sheet by the door so a substitute can take attendance without logging in.
- Use it for a club or a co-op: set the rows to the size of the group and the columns to the number of meetings.
- Print a blank sheet for field trips and fire drills so the head count is on paper where it can be checked and carried.
- Tally absences by reason in the margin (illness, trip, appointment) if your office asks for them at month end.
- File the filled sheets in a binder by month so you can answer a family’s question about a date months later.

Questions
Is a paper attendance sheet an official record?
Official records are kept in your school’s system. This sheet is a working copy and a backup. Follow your school’s rules for how long to keep paper records.
Is it safe to type the class list?
The list stays in this browser and is never sent to us. Printing a named list is your decision, so keep it where it belongs.
How many students fit?
Up to forty rows. With thirty students the rows are tall enough to write comfortably.
Can I use it for a homeschool?
Yes. Set one row and the number of days you teach each month, and use it as your attendance log.
How do I save it as a PDF?
Choose Print, then pick “Save as PDF” as the printer. Only the sheet prints: the page around it is hidden. You can also save a sheet as a PNG image under the preview.
Can I print it in black and white?
Yes. Switch to Black and white beside the sheet: fills turn white and lines turn black, so it saves ink and photocopies cleanly.
Is what I type saved or sent anywhere?
Your edits are kept in this browser so they are there next time, and are never sent to us. No sign-in, no ads.
