Top 20 free random number generators for the classroom (2026)

Checked October 2026For Teachers, Homeschool and parentsKind Free websitesNo affiliate links, no paid placement. How we chose

One entry, Peabody Teach Random Number Generator, is our own free tool. It is marked Ours and ranked against the same criteria as the others.

Quick answer

Peabody's own number machine now tops our list for a classroom: no ads, no sign-in, nothing sent anywhere, a class board where you tap away absent numbers, and place value, bingo, line-up and guess-my-number modes. Picker Wheel's Number Picker Wheel is a close second, with an exclude list, a digits mode and read-aloud, though the free version shows ads. Funraise's raffle wheel is free, needs no sign-up and says nothing leaves your browser. This list is for teachers who put a random number on the projector to call on students, run draws or play number games.

1. Peabody Teach Random Number Generator

Peabody Teach

  • Ours
  • Best for class numbers, place value and number games on one screen
  • Free

A number machine for the projector. Hold Space or the button and odometer reels whirl; let go and they lock digit by digit with a click, though the numbers were drawn first with the browser's secure random generator. A class board of up to 100 tiles fills in as numbers are drawn, and a tap marks a number away for today. Quick ranges, odd, even, multiples or count-by, a leave-out list, no repeats, sort and copy, Say it, and a Bingo 1-75 caller with letters and auto-call. Digits mode reveals a number place by place with its name and expanded form; Line up and Guess my number are modes too. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Free, no sign-in and no ads; Peabody is free through the end of 2026 (as of 2026-10-29).

Watch for It has no wheel, no weighted numbers and no decimals, the board shows ranges of up to 100 numbers and Line up up to 500, and there is no embed for a school website. It is English only, and the sounds and voice depend on the browser.

2. Picker Wheel Number Picker Wheel

Picker Wheel

  • Best for a class draw with no repeats, skipped numbers and digits
  • Free plan, paid upgrades

A number wheel that picks from a range you set (minimum, maximum and an interval, or a formula) and can leave out numbers you list. Elimination mode removes each result so numbers never repeat, a Random Digits mode spins one digit at a time to build a number of up to six digits, and Read Aloud says the result. It keeps a results history, has a full screen view and autosaves to your browser.

The free part: The wheel, elimination mode, digits mode, history and 15 saved files are free. Premium adds your own sounds, colours, logo and background.

The Premium price is not shown on the page we read.

Watch for The page says Premium removes ads, so the free wheel shows them in front of the class. Settings autosave in this browser only, and clearing browser history erases them.

3. Funraise Online Raffle Wheel

Funraise

  • Best for a class prize draw when nothing should leave the browser
  • Free

A free raffle wheel from a nonprofit software maker. Paste names or ticket numbers, or switch to Numbers mode and set a range, then spin. It can remove each winner after the spin, weight an entry (x5 gives it five slots), run full screen with confetti and export the winners log as a CSV file. The page says it runs entirely in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.

The page says it is completely free with no sign-up.

Watch for Built for nonprofit raffles, so it has no class-number features such as skipping absent students. It holds up to 2,000 entries, and the page did not say whether ads appear.

Visit Funraise Online Raffle Wheel ↗

4. SpinAndWheel Number Wheel

SpinAndWheel

  • Best for hands-free spinning and a clear list of winners
  • Free

A number spinner for a range with From, To and Step. It draws raffle numbers without repeats by removing each winner, lists them on a Winners tab, and can be run hands-free with voice control, auto spin and voice-over. It has eight colour themes, spin and winner sounds, confetti, a QR code and OBS links. Your numbers are saved in your browser.

The page says: Free, no sign-up, works on your phone.

Watch for The cookie notice says Google AdSense shows ads and, if you agree, Google Analytics and Hotjar record traffic and session replays. The page does not name its maker, and the wheel gets thin at a few hundred numbers.

Visit SpinAndWheel Number Wheel ↗

5. Planit Teachers Random Number Generator

Planit Teachers

  • Best for calling students by register number with ready-made ranges
  • Free plan, paid upgrades

A plain generator written for classrooms: set a smallest and largest number (negatives allowed), choose how many to pick (up to 100 at a time) and leave No repeats on to work through a class register number by number. It shows the number big enough to project and how many are left, has a Full screen button, and Space picks. Ready-made versions cover 1 to 10, 12, 20, 30, 50 and 100, and an embed code is offered.

The free part: The generator is free with no card, and the page says your work saves as you go. Paid Starter plans cover full lessons and AI marking.

Plan prices are not shown on the page we read.

Watch for The page does not say whether ads appear or what is stored, has no privacy statement, and offers no way to skip absent numbers.

6. Givebutter Random Number Generator Wheel

Givebutter

  • Best for skipping absent numbers and drawing each one once
  • Free

A free number picker wheel for raffles and draws that the maker also suggests for classroom draws. Set a minimum and maximum, skip numbers with an interval, and add invalid or unused numbers to an exclude field. Elimination Mode removes each number once it is picked, and history tracking records the draws. The wheel holds up to 1,000 numbers on a desktop or tablet.

The page calls it a free number picker wheel.

Watch for It is a fundraising company's freebie: the page does not say whether it shows ads, needs an account or where results are kept, and it warns the tool is not certified for regulated raffles.

Visit Givebutter Random Number Generator Wheel ↗

7. Comment Picker Number Picker Wheel

Comment Picker

  • Best for odd or even numbers and skipping numbers on a wheel
  • Free plan, paid upgrades

A spinning number wheel with presets (1-10, 1-100) or a custom range, an option to limit results to odd or even numbers, an exclude list and a remove-after-picked setting. You choose the spin animation and duration, colours, font, sound and confetti. The page says it is free to use without any limits and handles any count of numbers, though it looks best at 100 or fewer.

The free part: The wheel is free without limits. Premium adds a theme colour, a results title and a logo.

The Premium price is not shown on the page we read.

Watch for The page asks about ad-free and Premium features, so the free wheel shows ads, and it does not say where results or settings are stored.

8. RANDOM.ORG Integer Generator

RANDOM.ORG

  • Best for a draw you want to call truly random, or very long lists
  • Free plan, paid upgrades

The best-known source of randomness on the web: its numbers come from atmospheric noise rather than a formula. The Integer Generator makes up to 10,000 numbers at a time within plus or minus one billion, and its Sequence Generator shuffles a range with no duplicates. The site's cookie notice says it carries no ads and will never sell your data to third parties.

The free part: The site's FAQ refers to a free daily allowance of random bits, and its home page labels many tools as free services.

Per its FAQ, extra allowance and the Premium Generator for lists over 10,000 items are paid, and the Third-Party Draw Service needs at least $4.95 of prepaid credit (as of 2026-10-29).

Watch for It is a form, not a big-screen display, so the number is small on a projector, and no-repeat draws live on a separate Sequence page. Your request is made on its servers and a daily quota applies.

9. CalculatorSoup Random Number Generator

CalculatorSoup

  • Best for several sets of numbers with none repeated across them
  • Free

A clean generator for 0 to 1,000,000 with how many, allow repeats yes or no, and sorting low to high, high to low or none. Ask for several sets and choose whether numbers are reused or removed between sets, so none is drawn twice across sets. Results come out as text with commas or spaces, or as a spreadsheet row or column, with a copy button, a share section and an embed for your website.

The page shows the calculator with no charge, plan or login.

Watch for It is a laptop form with small type, not a projector display, and the page did not say whether ads appear or where your numbers go.

Visit CalculatorSoup Random Number Generator ↗

10. Toy Theater Random Number

Toy Theater

  • Best for one big number at a time for a team pick or warm-up
  • Price varies

A very plain generator: type a minimum and maximum (the page says up to nine million), press Go and a number appears. Clear and Range change it, and there are Full Screen and Mute settings. The page suggests picking a team or running a math activity with it.

The page we read did not state a price; the site has a Become a Member link.

Watch for The page shows Advertisement labels above and below the tool and a cookie notice, and it lists no no-repeat switch, no several-at-once option and no record of numbers picked.

Visit Toy Theater Random Number ↗

11. Daily Maths Review Random Number Generator

Daily Maths Review

  • Best for place value and reading big numbers aloud as a class
  • Free

A random number generator written for place value and number reading: choose one to eight digits, show one to seven numbers at once, and pick a font such as Verdana, an Australian foundation font or a handwritten style. A fullscreen control makes the numbers large for whole-class discussion, and the page points to a place value houses tool.

The page says teachers, students and families can use it in a browser for free.

Watch for It makes numbers by digit count rather than within a range you choose, has no no-repeat option, and the page does not name its maker or say whether ads appear.

Visit Daily Maths Review Random Number Generator ↗

12. RapidTables Random Numbers Generator

RapidTables

  • Best for showing a class how often each number really comes up
  • Free

A quick generator with presets (1-2, 1-3, 1-6, 1-10, 1-100), Min, Max and Step, a list length and a choice of separator. It can copy, share and save results, and draws a graph of how often each number came up, which helps when talking about fairness. The page says numbers are made locally in your browser with a cryptographically secure generator and are not sent to the server.

The page shows the tool with no charge, plan or login.

Watch for It makes a list at once rather than one big number at a time, has no no-repeat switch, and the page text does not say whether ads appear.

13. Bingo Card Creator Bingo Caller

Bingo Card Creator

  • Best for running a whole-class bingo with voices and patterns
  • Free

A 75-ball bingo caller that calls manually or automatically at an interval you set, with 16 voices and 13 pre-call sounds. It offers preset or custom winning patterns, lets you record winners' names and display them, and has a full-screen board and a presentation mode for a second screen. The page calls it a free, ad-free bingo caller.

The page calls it a free, ad-free bingo caller.

Watch for It only calls the 1 to 75 bingo set, not a range you choose. The page does not name its maker or say where the winners' names you record are kept, so use first names or initials.

14. Tim's Printables Online Bingo Caller

Tim's Printables

  • Best for a simple spoken bingo call with a called-numbers board
  • Free

A browser bingo caller that draws numbers from 1 to 75 with the matching B-I-N-G-O letter and keeps a board of every number called, with the count called and left. Auto-call runs every 2 to 15 seconds (5 by default) and can be paused, and the browser can read each number aloud. The page suggests about 5 seconds for most groups and 8 to 10 for young children.

The page calls it a free bingo caller.

Watch for It covers only the 1 to 75 bingo set, and the page does not say whether ads appear or where anything is stored.

Visit Tim's Printables Online Bingo Caller ↗

15. Research Randomizer

Geoffrey C. Urbaniak and Scott Plous

  • Best for several sets of numbers, such as a random order or sample
  • Free

A free resource for researchers and students that makes random numbers for sampling or for assigning people to conditions. Choose how many sets, how many numbers per set and the range, say whether numbers are unique within a set, sort them or leave them, and add place markers that show each number's position in the run.

The page calls it a free resource.

Watch for Numbers are unique only within one set, not across sets. It is a research form with small type, and the page does not mention ads or where numbers go.

Visit Research Randomizer ↗

16. Calculator.net Random Number Generator

calculator.net

  • Best for sorted lists, decimals or very large numbers
  • Free

Two generators. The simple one takes a lower and upper limit and can make integers up to a few thousand digits. The comprehensive one adds how many results, whether duplicates are allowed, sorting ascending, descending or not at all, integer or decimal, and precision up to 999 digits. The page says the numbers are pseudo-random and not for cryptographic use.

The page shows the generators with no charge or plan.

Watch for A form built for a laptop, not a projector, with no big display, no full screen and no way to draw one at a time without repeats across picks. The page does not say whether ads appear.

Visit Calculator.net Random Number Generator ↗

17. Wheel of Names

Wheel of Names

  • Best for a wheel when you also spin names and choices
  • Free

A popular spinning wheel, built for names but fine for numbers you type in as entries. The home page says all its premium features are free, with weighted wheels, several wheels, 150+ music tracks and sound effects, shareable links and custom images. The FAQ says spins use the browser's crypto.getRandomValues function and entries are saved on your device after every change.

The home page says its premium features are free, without any paywalls.

Watch for We found no number-range mode on the pages we read, so you type the numbers in. The FAQ says ads show but can be closed for a session, and saving to the cloud needs a login.

Visit Wheel of Names ↗  Facts read on the maker’s page.

18. NumberGenerator.org

NumberGenerator.org

  • Best for unusual rules, such as digits that add up to a total
  • Free

A very wide set of number tools: a random number between X and Y, X-digit generators, unique or duplicate numbers, odd or even filters, sorting, and a Start, Stop and Stop One control for a drawing. You can set font size and colour, use fullscreen and roll dice from d4 to d100. It also makes number lists, combinations, permutations and numbers whose digits add up to a value.

The page calls it a free number generator service.

Watch for Two Advertisement sections appear on the page, the page does not name its maker, and the many options make it busy for a projector.

Visit NumberGenerator.org ↗

19. Google's random number generator

Google

  • Best for one quick number when you are already online
  • Free

The panel that appears when you search for random number generator: a Min box, a Max box and a Generate button that shows one number. It needs nothing to load or install, and the same group of panels offers a spinner, a coin flip and a die roll. It is the quickest way to get a single number between two limits.

The panel is free and needs no sign-in.

Watch for We saw only Min, Max and Generate: no way to pick several at once, avoid repeats or skip numbers. It sits inside a search results page with other content around it.

20. RandomNumberGenerator.com

RandomNumberGenerator.com

  • Best for a quick table of several ranges in one go
  • Free

An old, simple site that shows a table of ready random numbers: a six-sided die, 1 to 10, two lottery ranges, 1 to 100, 1 to 1000 and minus 100 to 100, with a More random numbers button. You can customise up to 20 numbers and their ranges (cookies must be on), and the site has a dice simulator.

The page says it is completely free to use.

Watch for The page says all the numbers are made on the web server by the Math.random function, not by the browser's secure generator, and we saw no no-repeat option.

Visit RandomNumberGenerator.com ↗

Also good

  • Gynzy Number Generator: A number card on a Gynzy board where you choose which numbers up to 100 are included and whether students can press Shuffle. It sits inside a Gynzy licence with a free trial; the pricing page we read gave no price.
  • Classroomscreen Randomizer: Picks students from a name list in standard or wheel format and remembers who has been chosen; the page does not say whether it handles numbers. Free accounts save three name lists.
  • Games4ESL Spin the Wheel: A free wheel with a Numbers tab (1-10, 1-20, 1-50, 1-100 and Big Numbers) that can keep or remove the picked item; the page links to a Remove Ads option.
  • Polypad dice, coins and spinners: Free virtual manipulatives with dice, coins, spinners and number cubes and no login; useful for probability, but not a range generator.

How we chose

We weighed these, most important first. The order is our judgement against them, not a score or a vote, and a different teacher could reasonably order it differently. Our own tool sits where those criteria put it; we built it after studying the others, so read its entry with that in mind.

  1. Free without sign-in. Can a teacher use it at once, with no card and no account, and where does a paid plan start if there is one?
  2. Draws that suit a class. No repeats, several numbers at once, and a way to skip the numbers of students who are away.
  3. Readable on a projector. Big numbers, a full screen view and a quick way to pick, so the back row can see.
  4. Ads and where numbers go. Whether the page shows ads in front of the class, and whether it says numbers stay in your browser or go to a server.
  5. Extras for lessons. Digit and place-value modes, bingo calling, sound, speech and sorting that turn a number into a classroom activity.

We took no money, free products or affiliate commissions for any place on this list, and no link here carries a tracking code. Every fact was read on the maker’s own page on October 29, 2026; prices carry that date because they change. See how we choose and the ad-free promise.

Questions

What is the best free random number generator for teachers?
We rank Peabody's generator first for a classroom: it draws without repeats, lets you tap away absent numbers on a board, shows numbers large on odometer reels and has digits, bingo, line-up and guess-my-number modes, with no ads. Picker Wheel's Number Picker Wheel is a close second, with an exclude list, a digits mode and read-aloud, though the free version shows ads. Planit Teachers' generator also draws without repeats and projects well.
How do I pick a student by number without calling anyone twice?
Number the class once, set the range from 1 to the size of your class, and turn on no repeats or elimination so each number comes up once. Planit Teachers, Peabody, Picker Wheel, SpinAndWheel and Givebutter all have a way to do this. To leave out students who are away, Picker Wheel and Givebutter take an exclude list, and Peabody lets you tap the number away on its board for the day.
Are online random number generators really random?
Most use a computer formula, called pseudo-random, which is fine for a class draw. RANDOM.ORG says its numbers come from atmospheric noise. RapidTables and Wheel of Names say they use the browser's secure generator. RandomNumberGenerator.com says it uses Math.random on its server, and Calculator.net says its numbers are pseudo-random.
Which of these random number tools show ads?
RANDOM.ORG and Bingo Card Creator's caller say they carry no ads. Toy Theater, NumberGenerator.org, Picker Wheel, Comment Picker and SpinAndWheel show ads or sell an ad-free upgrade. Peabody shows none. For several others the page we read did not say, so check on the projector before class.
Which tool is best for place value and big numbers?
Daily Maths Review's generator makes numbers of one to eight digits and shows up to seven at once, with school-style fonts. Picker Wheel has a Random Digits mode that spins one digit at a time to build a number of up to six digits. Peabody's Digits mode uncovers a number of up to seven digits one place at a time, then shows it in words and expanded form, and has a make-the-greatest-number digit draw.
Can I use these for a prize raffle?
For a class prize draw, yes. Givebutter and SpinAndWheel both say their tools are not certified for regulated raffles, and SpinAndWheel notes that ticketed raffles may need a permit depending on local rules. For a formal draw, RANDOM.ORG sells a separate third-party draw service.
