Questions

Is a 45 minute timer good for a test?

It works as a visible clock for the room. Use the Quiet style for no sound and no colour changes, and add or take off 30 seconds with the arrow keys if you need to give extra time to a student.

Is a 45 minute timer good for a test?

It works well as a visible clock for a test or a long task. Set it to 45 minutes, press Start, and use full screen with the Quiet style if you do not want colours changing or a sound at the end. You can also pause it if the class is interrupted, and press Resume to continue from the same time.

How do I change the 45 minute timer?

Press a preset button or choose Custom and type a length such as 7:30 or 90s. The page address updates to carry the new length, so you can bookmark it or share it. This page always opens at 45 minutes.

Will the 45 minute timer keep the right time if the tab is in the background?

Yes. The countdown compares the clock when you pressed Start with the clock now, so it stays right when a tab sleeps. When it reaches zero it plays a short, soft chime (press M to turn the sound off) and the page title in the tab says the time is up.
