How to use it

  1. Choose a prompt (3-2-1, muddiest point, tell a friend who was away and nine more) or type your own. Or switch to Questions and pick a grade and a source, as in the quiz maker.
  2. Choose four or six to a page. A long prompt or long answers print four, so nothing is cut off.
  3. Leave the faces on to see how sure each student felt, or turn them off for a plain ticket.
  4. Print, cut on the dashed lines, and hand them out in the last three minutes. Question tickets print a key on a second page.

Ideas for class

  • Read the tickets the same day and sort them into three piles: got it, almost, not yet. Tomorrow's groups are the piles.
  • Open the next lesson with two or three anonymous answers from the muddiest-point pile.
  • Use the same prompt for a week so students learn the routine and the answers get better.
  • Give a question ticket with one question in three boxes for a two-minute check on a single skill.
  • Pair a ticket with the quiz maker: an exit ticket today, a ten-question quiz on Friday from the same part of the bank.
