How to use it

  1. Choose the sheet: your notes for the meeting, or the page families fill in at home first.
  2. Turn off any section you don't need, and choose how many writing lines go under each.
  3. If you like, type short notes before the meeting. They print above the lines and stay in this tab only.
  4. Print one per conference. The student's line prints blank so you can write it by hand.

Ideas for class

  • Send the family page home three or four days before, so you know their questions before they sit down.
  • Lead with a strength and a piece of work that shows it. Families relax when the first thing they hear is specific and good.
  • Keep the goal to one thing you can both see progress on in six weeks, and write the check-in date before you stand up.
  • Bring two copies of the notes sheet: one for the family to take home, one for your file.
  • For a student-led conference, let the student fill in the strengths and goal sections before the meeting.

Questions

What should a parent-teacher conference form include?

Strengths with examples, what the student is working on, one goal, how school will help, how home can help, the family's questions and the next check-in. This form has those sections, and you can turn any off.

Is there a form for families to fill in before the conference?

Yes. Choose “Before we meet” for a one-page set of six short questions: what the child enjoys, what is going well, any worries, what to talk about, what helps them learn, and how to reach the family.

Is anything I type saved?

Only in this browser tab, and only until you close it. Notes are about one child, so they are never saved online, never put in a link and never sent to us. Your section choices are remembered in this browser.

Can I print it blank?

Yes. Leave the notes empty and every section prints with writing lines.

Nothing you type here is sent to us or kept online. Notes stay in this tab until you close it; section choices stay in this browser. Pressing Print notes that a conference form was printed, and a thumb below notes up or down. Nothing else is sent. No sign-in, no ads, no AI.
