About this set
A class Valentine’s party needs a game that every child can play and no child can lose at too badly, and bingo does that: the cards are all different, a win is mostly luck, and the whole class can play at once. The list leans toward friendship and kindness over romance, with the objects of the day (cards, envelopes, the class mailbox, candy hearts, roses, ribbon, lace) and the words children say to each other (be mine, thank you, hugs, share, care). Saint Valentine and February 14 are on the list for the history, and cupid with his arrow is there for the fun.
Grades: Pre-K to 5th grade. Best in: February.

How to play, and five ideas
Party game: give each student a card and a few candy hearts as markers, with the rule that you eat them only after the game.
Kind words: when “kindness” or “friendship” is called, each student says one kind thing about a classmate.
Mailbox match: put the called word on the board, and have students check it against the list on the class mailbox.
Writing link: students write a valentine to a friend using the word that gave them bingo.
Quiet version: students use pencils instead of candy, and the first to finish a line writes “Bingo” on their card and holds it up silently.
The list focuses on friendship, kindness, cards and treats. There is no dating or romance beyond hearts and cupid, and you can delete any word you prefer to skip.
Can I use it with a class valentine exchange?
Yes. Print the cards for the party, and add your students’ own words to the box (the class mailbox, the name of the teacher) for a personal set.
Can I change the words?
Yes. The 36 words are in the box above the cards. Delete, add or edit any line and the cards are rebuilt at once. Nothing is saved on our servers.
How do I call the game?
Press “Call the game”. Each press of the space bar tumbles the ball cage and pops out the next item in very large type, with the list of items already called beside it. Press C and type a card number to check a winner, P to change the win pattern, V to have each call read aloud, and F to fill the projector.
How do I save the cards as a PDF?
Press Print and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Each page can also be saved as a PNG picture from under its preview.
