About this set
Spring is the season for science units on plants and life cycles, and this set follows them. The words come in four groups: weather (rain, raindrop, puddle, umbrella, rain boots, rainbow, wind, sunshine), plants (seeds, sprout, tulip, daffodil, blossoms, grass, garden), animals and life cycles (caterpillar, butterfly, ladybug, bee, robin, nest, egg, worm, lamb) and the things children do (kite, picnic, planting, spring cleaning). It holds no holiday, so it fits any school. Call a group at a time to review a unit, or use all of it as a fun end-of-week game when the weather finally allows a window to be open.
Grades: Pre-K to 4th grade. Best in: March, April, May.
No. Easter, Earth Day and Mother’s Day are not on the cards, so it fits any school.
Can I make an outdoor scavenger version?
Yes. Choose 3 × 3 cards and the words you expect to find outside (grass, bird, nest, worm, flower), then print a card for each student.
Can I change the words?
Yes. The 36 words are in the box above the cards. Delete, add or edit any line and the cards are rebuilt at once. Nothing is saved on our servers.
How do I call the game?
Press “Call the game”. Each press of the space bar tumbles the ball cage and pops out the next item in very large type, with the list of items already called beside it. Press C and type a card number to check a winner, P to change the win pattern, V to have each call read aloud, and F to fill the projector.
How do I save the cards as a PDF?
Press Print and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Each page can also be saved as a PNG picture from under its preview.
