About this set
Easter is a Christian holiday that falls on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25, and it is also a spring celebration of eggs, bunnies, baskets and new life that many families keep without any religious meaning. This list leans toward the second: the egg hunt and what goes in the basket (eggs, plastic eggs, egg dye, jelly beans, chocolate bunny), the animals of spring (chick, duckling, lamb, rabbit), the flowers (tulips, daffodils, lily) and the family day (brunch, Easter Sunday, church, family). It is meant for children who celebrate and for those who are learning about it. Delete the church and Easter Sunday squares for a purely seasonal spring game.
Grades: Pre-K to 5th grade. Best in: March, April.
Public schools can teach about holidays as part of a social studies or culture unit, and many classes play spring-egg games. The list mostly uses the seasonal and secular traditions. Check your district’s guidance, and delete any word you prefer to leave out.
When is Easter?
It changes each year and falls on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25. Many schools hold their spring party in the week before, which is why the cards are filed under March and April.
Can I change the words?
Yes. The 34 words are in the box above the cards. Delete, add or edit any line and the cards are rebuilt at once. Nothing is saved on our servers.
How do I call the game?
Press “Call the game”. Each press of the space bar tumbles the ball cage and pops out the next item in very large type, with the list of items already called beside it. Press C and type a card number to check a winner, P to change the win pattern, V to have each call read aloud, and F to fill the projector.
How do I save the cards as a PDF?
Press Print and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Each page can also be saved as a PNG picture from under its preview.
