Thirty-six farm words on unique printable cards: the animals, their babies, the sounds they make, and the barn, tractor and silo, for a farm unit in pre-K to 3rd grade.
36 items · a 5 × 5 card with a free space needs 24 or more. More items make the cards differ. For review bingo, type answer | clue (“56 | 7 × 8”): the card shows the answer, the caller reads the clue. Two columns pasted from a spreadsheet work too. Start a line with an emoji (“🐶 dog”) for a picture square.

About this set
A farm unit in the early grades usually covers four things: the animals, their babies, the sounds they make, and what a farm gives us. This set holds all four. There are the grown-up animals (cow, pig, horse, sheep, goat, chicken, rooster, hen, duck, goose, turkey, donkey, bull), the babies (calf, lamb, piglet, foal, chick), the sounds (moo, oink, neigh, baa, cluck) and the farm itself, from barn, silo and tractor to hay, pasture and fence, with what comes from it (milk, eggs, wool, cheese). Pre-K students can match pictures and sounds, and second and third graders can sort the squares into animals, babies and products.
Grades: Pre-K to 3rd grade. Best in: September, October, April.
Sound caller: say the sound (“Oink!”) instead of the name, and students cover the animal that makes it. Take turns letting students be the caller.
Baby match: when a baby is called (calf, lamb, piglet, foal, chick), students name the grown-up before covering the square.
Farm to table: after the game, students sort the squares into what animals give us (milk, eggs, wool, cheese) and what animals need (hay, pasture, barn, trough).
Move like it: when an animal is called, the class acts it out for five seconds, then covers the square.
Field trip prep: play the game the day before a visit to a farm, and ask students to find five squares on the trip.
A baby cow is a calf, a baby sheep is a lamb, a baby pig is a piglet, a baby horse is a foal and a baby chicken is a chick. All five are on the cards.
Is the turkey a farm animal?
Turkeys are raised on farms, so it is on the list. If your class uses these cards in November and you would rather not have it, delete the line and the cards are rebuilt without it.
Can I change the words?
Yes. The 36 words are in the box above the cards. Delete, add or edit any line and the cards are rebuilt at once. Nothing is saved on our servers.
How do I call the game?
Press “Call the game”. Each press of the space bar tumbles the ball cage and pops out the next item in very large type, with the list of items already called beside it. Press C and type a card number to check a winner, P to change the win pattern, V to have each call read aloud, and F to fill the projector.
How do I save the cards as a PDF?
Press Print and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Each page can also be saved as a PNG picture from under its preview.
