About this set
The last week of school is part celebration, part goodbye, and a game that does both is useful. This list holds the traditions (yearbook, autographs, awards assembly, class party, field day, graduation, cap and gown, diploma, moving up), the chores (clean out the desk, return library books, lost and found, report card, summer packet) and the feelings (goodbye, favorite memory, thank-you card, hugs, new friends) that make up the week. Students from pre-K to eighth grade will find words that match their year, and teachers can steer the game toward memories by asking for a story when a word is called. Hugs are listed as a word, not a requirement: let students choose how they say goodbye.
Grades: Pre-K to 8th grade. Best in: May, June.

How to play, and five ideas
Memory call: before covering a square, a student shares a one-sentence memory from the year that goes with the word (“Field trip: we saw the butterflies”).
Clean-up bingo: play while students clear desks and cubbies, and cover squares on cards as they finish each task you call.
Autograph round: when “autographs” is called, students sign three classmates’ cards or yearbooks and then cover the square.
Time capsule: the winner reads one square from their winning line, and the class adds a note about it to a time capsule or class book.
Moving-up version: for pre-K, 5th and 8th grade, delete the chores and keep graduation, cap and gown, diploma, moving up, new school, goodbye and memories.
Can a student who is sad about the year ending take part?
Yes. Goodbye, hugs and favorite memory are on the cards so students can name the feelings the week brings. Let any student pass on a call, and use the game to say that goodbyes are allowed to feel mixed.
How do I add our school’s own traditions?
Add them to the box: the name of your mascot, a school song, the 5th-grade walk, a talent show or a field day theme. The cards rebuild with them and nothing leaves your browser.
Can I change the words?
Yes. The 36 words are in the box above the cards. Delete, add or edit any line and the cards are rebuilt at once. Nothing is saved on our servers.
How do I call the game?
Press “Call the game”. Each press of the space bar tumbles the ball cage and pops out the next item in very large type, with the list of items already called beside it. Press C and type a card number to check a winner, P to change the win pattern, V to have each call read aloud, and F to fill the projector.
How do I save the cards as a PDF?
Press Print and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. Each page can also be saved as a PNG picture from under its preview.
