How we chose

We weighed these, most important first. The order is our judgement against them, not a score or a vote, and a different teacher could reasonably order it differently.

  1. Free to print. Whether a teacher can print a quiz or test, as many times as needed, without paying, and where a free plan stops.
  2. Answer key. Whether the site's own page says a key comes with the quiz or test, so checking takes minutes.
  3. Ready for K-8. Whether there are quizzes written for elementary and middle school, or a maker that fits them, not only high school material.
  4. Little setup. Whether you can print at once, or must make an account, verify as a teacher or log in first.
  5. Ads and privacy. Whether the page mentions ads, and whether students need to type anything online at all. If a page is silent we say so.

We took no money, free products or affiliate commissions for any place on this list, and no link here carries a tracking code. Every fact was read on the maker’s own page on October 30, 2026; prices carry that date because they change. See how we choose and the ad-free promise.

Questions

Where can I print a free quiz with an answer key?
Wayground's printable worksheets each include a full key, and Math-Drills and Math-Aids.Com include keys with their math sheets. ReadWorks has keys for many of its question sets, shown once you verify as a teacher.
Can I make my own printable test for free?
Yes. Easy Test Maker's free plan covers every question type and answer sheets for up to 25 tests. Common Core Sheets has a free Create-A test tool, and Peabody's quiz maker prints a quiz and key with no account at all.
Why give a quiz on paper?
Paper needs no devices, no logins and no network, and nothing a student writes goes online. It also lets you sort answers by hand into piles for tomorrow's groups.
How do I stop students copying from a neighbor?
Print two versions with the questions in a different order. Easy Test Maker's paid plans do this, and Peabody's free quiz maker prints versions A and B with one key set.
