Reading printables

Reading logs for home and school, graphic organizers for thinking about a text, and word wall headers for your wall. All editable, all free.

How teachers use this shelf

Reading sheets earn their place when they make a student think about the text or make the habit visible. The logs here are short enough that a family will actually fill them in. The organizers are the usual shapes with room to write, so you can use them with any book, passage or lesson. The word wall sheets give you letters, sounds and starter words ready to cut.

Questions

Do these match a reading program?

No program is assumed. The organizers work with any text; the word wall starter words come from the public-domain Dolch lists.

Can I use the logs for homeschool records?

Yes. Print the monthly log and keep it in a binder. Check your state’s record rules on the homeschool pages.

Will they print on one page?

Yes, each organizer is one page. The word wall headers run to several pages, four letters or sounds to a sheet.
