Our room

This week: counting

A counting week for twos to fours: counting to five and ten, one-to-one with real things, and counting songs.

Our letter is N: N is for number.

Our song is “One, Two, Buckle My Shoe”. The words are below, so you can sing it at home.

Our books: Ten Pigs, Six Cats, Six Hats, The Red Bus, Look at the Big Pig. The ones marked free can be read at peabody.kids, no sign-in.

One, Two, Buckle My Shoe

One, two, buckle my shoe; Three, four, knock at the door; Five, six, pick up sticks; Seven, eight, lay them straight; Nine, ten, a big fat hen.

Traditional; public domain.

Ask your child about…

  • Ask your child how high they can count.
  • Ask your child how long their caterpillar is.
