How do I make a printable quiz from my own questions?

Write each question and its answer on one line with a colon between them, like "7 × 8: 56", and paste the list into the quiz maker under "My list". It prints the quiz in the layout you pick, with an answer key, and makes the answer choices from your other answers. It works for any subject, which matters most in grades 6 to 8, where the built-in bank holds reading passages and word meanings but no science or social studies.

Asked by teachers, answered by Peabody's editors. Checked .

Two columns copied from a spreadsheet work too: questions in one, answers in the other. You need at least two lines.

Choices you have

  • Four layouts: three boxes, fill the blank, short answer with writing lines, and exit ticket.
  • 5, 10, 15 or 20 questions, picked from your list (or all of them, if your list is shorter).
  • Versions A and B, an answer key and, for three-box quizzes, a bubble sheet.
  • A title at the top, and a Name and Date line on every quiz page.

Ten three-box questions fit on one page. To save a PDF, choose Print, then "Save as PDF" as the printer.

Where your list goes

The maker builds the quiz in your browser and keeps your list there for next time. A share link carries it after the # in the address, a part of a link that browsers do not send to any server. Keep students' names out of quiz questions all the same.
