Do you know the Fry 100?
Tap the speaker to hear a word, then tap the box that says it. This is how a K–1 sight word check runs: the child hears the word and finds it among two look-alikes.
Question 1 of 15
Listen, then tap the word you hear.
Where the words and the wrong boxes come from
- The fifteen words are on Edward Fry's first 100 Instant Words and in the practice bank's sight words (the Dolch lists and the heart words).
- One wrong box looks like the word: the same first letter and length, or one letter different.
- The other is a word turned round or a rhyme: was and saw, now and won.
- Fry's list as printed by the Bismarck Public Schools; other printings differ by a word or two.
