Snack: Frozen Banana Pops (swap: Yogurt → oat yogurt), recipe at peabody.kids/kitchen/banana-pops. Outside: Call an animal; everyone moves like it: an elephant stomps, a monkey swings its arms, a snake slithers.

Our room

This week: zoo animals

A zoo week for twos to fours: big animals and small ones, how they move, and what they eat.

Our letter is Z: Z is for zoo.

Our song is “Pop Goes the Weasel”. The words are below, so you can sing it at home.

Our books: I See a Boy, The Red Bus, At the Zoo, Lion and Mouse. The ones marked free can be read at peabody.kids, no sign-in.

Pop Goes the Weasel

All around the cobbler's bench The monkey chased the weasel; The monkey thought 'twas all in fun. Pop! goes the weasel.

Traditional; public domain.

Ask your child about…

  • Ask your child which animal they pretended to be.
  • Ask your child how many stripes their zebra has.
