Craft: Paper-plate scarecrow (paper plate, crayons, yellow paper strips (straw), a paper triangle hat, glue stick), with a grown-up. Snack: Ants on a Log (swap: Peanut butter → sunflower seed butter), recipe at peabody.kids/kitchen/ants-on-a-log. Outside: Children flap like birds; when the grown-up calls "Scarecrow!" everyone freezes with arms out.

Our room

This week: scarecrows and harvest

A harvest week for twos to fours: what farmers pick in the fall, why a scarecrow stands in the field, and sorting the crops.

Our letter is S: S is for scarecrow.

Our song is “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary”. The words are below, so you can sing it at home.

Our books: At the Farm, Meg and the Seed, The Big Truck, Henny Penny. The ones marked free can be read at peabody.kids, no sign-in.

Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary
