Animal science lessons, with NGSS codes
Five free five-minute lessons that Peabody reads aloud, each with a three-question quiz, a drawing page and a try-at-home card. Everything opens on peabody.kids with no sign-in, and nothing a student taps is sent.
Five lessons
- 🦊 Animal adaptations (Grades 2–4): NGSS 4-LS1-1, NGSS 3-LS4-3. Animals have structures that support survival, growth, behavior and reproduction.
- 🦋 Animal life cycles (Grades 1–3): NGSS 3-LS1-1. Organisms have unique and diverse life cycles, but all have birth, growth, reproduction and death in common.
- 🌿 Food chains (Grades 3–5): NGSS 5-LS2-1. Matter moves among plants, animals, decomposers and the environment.
- 🐘 Animal groups (Grades 1–4): NGSS 4-LS1-1. Animals have structures that support survival, growth, behavior and reproduction.
- 🦴 Fossils (Grades 2–4): NGSS 3-LS4-1. Fossils give evidence of the organisms and the environments in which they lived long ago.
Animal report sheets
